Systematic Design & Age Inclusive Community

Major Project @ Institute without Boundaries

“How might we design to empower older adults to maintain and create social connections within their communities?”

Sometimes it only takes one act of kindness to change a person's life. The global pandemic has increase the burden of social isolation and loneliness in older adults aging in place. Older adults are more distant from loved ones and family than ever before. It has never been more important to find new ways to demonstrate empathy and compassion for older adults in our community.

As such, we developed KIND – A multifaceted social innovation business that offers scalable, adaptable, and customizable services focused on fostering a sense of belonging for older adults living and aging in place in communities across Canada.

KIND houses 3 main services:

KIND LOVE – A delivery service of goods and resources with care to your distant older adults aging in place

KIND LEISURE – A modular mobile pod that facilitates entrepreneurial opportunities for older adults looking to exchange handmade crafts and goods within the community

KIND LEGACY – A recording booth and a broadcasting platform that enables older adults to share life stories, wisdoms, leave legacy for future generations
